Things Interior Designers are Thankful For

There are many things I am thankful for this year that I'd Like to share with you

I try to spend a little bit of time every day being consciously thankful for the life I live. My job is my passion, and I live a life in a wonderful community surrounded by incredible people. Still, when a designer creates a list of things to be grateful for, it doesn’t look like a typical Thanksgiving meditation.

This year, I am thankful for:

I am thankful for my loving and forgiving husband

The Nashville arts scene

Knowing people who know how Instagram works

Homemade (or at least local) jam

Great clients

A vibrant local design community

Sturdy, comfortable, beautiful furniture

People who can move sturdy, comfortable, beautiful furniture

Amazing new wallpaper patterns

Color in kitchens

Great florists

An understanding husband

Two amazing puppies

And hundreds of readers and friends just like you.

i am thankful for wonderful friends
i am thankful for a wonderful home and community
i am thankful for my two amazing dogs sammy and lily

In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I also asked a few friends what they are thankful for this year and here's what they had to say:

I am very thankful for my family—Jason Facio and our pups Humphrey and Berta. They make my world a special and lovely place.   And secondly for my ballet colleagues—artists and administrators who work every day to make our community a better place, through our art!
Thanks for asking!
-Paul Vasterling, Artistic Director, Nashville Ballet

We here at Epergne are thankful for Family and Friends!
-Laura Chadwick, Co- Owner, Epergne

My health. I have watched a few too many friends deal with cancer. I am reminded it is the absolute fundamental gift, and it is indeed a gift. Sending you wishes for continued glowing, vital health, Mary!
-Charlotte Terrell, Artist

Besides my amazing clients and friends, I continue to be grateful for the dynamic Nashville restaurant community! We have SO many fabulous new places to dine that it can be hard to keep up with all the choices. I am particularly fond of all of Maneet Chauhan’s establishments including Chauhan Ale & Masala House, Tansuo and  The Mockingbird and look forward to her latest venture Chaatable on Charlotte Avenue (in the former Salt & Vine location) to open soon!
-Amos Gott, Event Planner, Amos Events
